It accelerates video and image encoding to compute at an incredible frame rate. GPEG2 video codec is a video compressor / decompressor that registers into the Windows?® multimedia drivers and integrates with any application using DirectShow (Virtual Dub, Adobe Premiere, etc). Existing video players, such as Windows?® Media Player?® , Media Player Classic can use this codec to play MPEG-2 streams.The GPEG2 video codec supports several levels and profiles. Source formats supported range from Limited Definition (VCR quality) to full HDTV (720P or 1080P) - each with a range of 1 Mbit/s to 50 Mbit/s bitrates.For example, on low definition (624x252), 371 FPS on a ATI Radeon HD4870 and onn high definition (1440x1080), 57 FPS on the same card.
